I was so excited to walk in to the grocery store and see fresh cranberries waiting for me. I picked them up to try in a roasted cauliflower dish that I’m going to practice for Thanksgiving. But this morning I snuck just a half cup to throw my morning smoothie.
Cranberry Vanilla Smoothie
1 Cup Rice Milk (or other milk alternative)
1 Scoop Juice Plus Complete Shake Mix in French Vanilla
1/2 Cup Fresh Cranberries
1/4 of a Vanilla Bean
4-6 Ice Cubes
Throw everything into a high-powered blender and let it whirl. Yum!
Here’s the deal with the vanilla bean. If you have a high-powered blender you can throw in the whole vanilla pod. If you’re using a standard blender scrape the seeds out and put just the seeds in your blender.
And I love the tartness of cranberries. But if you need your smoothie a little sweeter feel free to add 1 tablespoon of agave nectar or a couple drops of liquid Stevia.
